If you have been watching the ESPN network, then you are probably familiar with Elle Duncan. For quite a while, Duncan has been the go-to place for news relating to American Football. And while she looks after several segments on the network, she mainly focuses on the NFL. Duncan has been an anchor all her life and her talent in the field is not something you get to see every day. Early Life
Born as Lauren Duncan on April 12, 1983, in Atlanta, Georgia, Elle grew up in a loving and supportive family. Her parents, Clark and Toni Duncan met in high school and have been married for over four decades. They have two daughters, Elle and her elder sister Kelli, who both inherited their parents’ fire genes.
Elle’s father Clark was especially influential in shaping her dreams and career. She played travel softball in her middle school and competed against teams that would play Loser by Beck from a boombox when they beat her team. Her father, Clark, was very supportive of her and her sister’s softball dreams and careers. He would walk around with headshots of Elle in his briefcase and drop everything to be there for them. He was a devoted dad who would walk around with headshots of Elle in his briefcase, hoping to find opportunities for her. He even drove across the country to help Elle pursue her dream of becoming a sports journalist.
Professional Life
She graduated from McEachern High School and later enrolled at the State University of West Georgia, where she obtained her degree in journalism. Following her education, Duncan began her professional career as an intern for a sports talk radio show by the name 2 Live Stews, a syndicated sports talk radio show on 790/The Zone. After working at the radio station for over a year, Duncan moved to WVEE where she was part of the Ryan Cameron Show. During her time at the show, she was tasked with giving traffic updates on-air. She also simultaneously worked for the Frank and Wanda Show and had an afternoon show to herself.
Early in her career, Duncan was a contributor for the Atlanta Falcons (NFL) and Atlanta Hawks (NBA). She hosted both pre-game and post-game shows for the Atlanta-based teams. Elle also tried out freelancing for some time and worked with Comcast Sports South. She reported on the ACC and SEC football games. In 2012, Duncan landed a new job with the WXIA-TV in Atlanta.
Two years after in 2014, Duncan was hired by the New England Sports Network (NESN). She worked as a host for the TV network and covered stories relating to teams in and around Boston. Elle was also seen in high-school sporting events and was a regular of the NESN live.
After enjoying a two-year stint at the NESN, Elle moved to ESPN. She now worked with greater freedom and soon established herself as one of the leading anchors of the network. She is currently in a contract with the ESPN network and is enjoying her role as an anchor.
